KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur granted transit bail

Pakistan Army

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court has accepted the transit bail plea of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and granted him bail till October 25.

In a bid to avoid arrest upon reaching Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has applied for a transit bail at the Peshawar High Court.

The move comes amid heightened security measures in the federal capital, where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters are gathering for a planned protest at D-Chowk.

Gandapur is concerned about the potential for detention due to pending cases linked to his participation in previous protests and political rallies.

The Peshawar High Court reviewing the application, which seeks legal protection for Gandapur to safely travel to Islamabad, has granted him transit bail till October 25 and ordered that the CM cannot be arrested.

Rangers summoned in Lahore

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies in Islamabad remain on high alert, with strict measures, including road closures, in place to prevent unrest during the protest.

Several PTI leaders and workers have already been detained, and the capital is bracing for potential escalations as protestors attempt to converge on D-Chowk.
