Court issues arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur

RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi has issued arrest warrants for several individuals, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, in connection with the May 9 incidents.
The court also ordered the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s current and former leaders including Shahbaz Gill, Musarrat Jamshed Cheema, Murad Saeed, Shabbir Awan, Shireen Mazari, and Shibli Faraz.
The accused had been nominated in the case based on statements recorded under section 164 by Sadaqat Abbasi, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, and Umar Tanveer Butt on January 17.
The case, registered at the City Police Station, alleges that the accused, along with their associates, caused damage to the Metro bus station, the 15 Office, and other government properties.
The warrants were issued upon the request of the SHO of City Police Station, Aftab Ahmed. The court, presided over by Judge Malik Ejaz Asif, has ordered the accused to be arrested and presented on April 2.
Earlier, An anti-terrorism court in Lahore extended the pre-arrest bail of sisters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, along with former finance minister Asad Umar.
