Lahore police reports considerable reduction in crime incidents

LAHORE: Due to the effective policing efforts of the caretaker government over the past six months, there has been a notable 12 per cent reduction in property-related crimes.
According to the statistics provided by Crime Calls Lahore 15, instances of dacoity, robbery, burglary, and snatching have seen a decline in the city. Notably, both car and motorcycle theft incidents have also decreased.
The data report highlights a 6 per cent increase in property-related crimes in May 2023, followed by a significant 11 per cent decrease in July 2023.
Subsequently, there was a reported 10 per cent increase in property-related crimes in August, but this trend reversed with an 8 per cent decrease in September and a noteworthy 12 per cent decrease in October 2023.

Acknowledging this positive trend in crime reduction, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who chaired a meeting to review the data report, commended the efforts but emphasised the need for further reduction.
According to The News, the Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with the government’s provision of all necessary resources to the police and expects an even better performance in return. The meeting was attended by IG Police, CCPO, and other key police officials.
