Customs officials forewarned of terror threat prior to attack

PESHAWAR: A startling revelation has emerged concerning the recent terrorist attack on Customs officials in DI Khan, suggesting that advance notice of the threat had been received.
Fatal shooting claims lives of Customs officials in DI Khan
It has been disclosed that prior to the tragic incident, a precautionary letter had been dispatched to the Collector Customs Enforcement by the District Police Officer (DPO) of DI Khan.
The letter advised against the implementation of daily staff movements in DI Khan and recommended that Customs personnel conduct mobile checks in close proximity to police check posts exclusively.
Furthermore, the letter stressed the importance of promptly informing the local police during any emergency situation. Regrettably, despite these precautionary measures, three Customs officials fell victim to the targeted attack and were martyred in DI Khan on Saturday.
Custom officials killed in ambush in DI Khan
Prior to this April 20 tragedy where two customs officials were martyred in gunfire attack, on April 18, five customs officials lost their lives during an intelligence-based operation (IBO). The cautionary letter was issued a day later by the DPO.
