Dead buffalo meat being supplied to Peshawar hotels

PESHAWAR: In a significant crackdown, the provincial Food Department has apprehended five individuals involved in the illicit supply of dead buffalo meat to Peshawar hotels.
Acting on reports of unhygienic food practices, the department uncovered two deceased buffalos in a warehouse during a targeted raid.

The apprehended suspects, consisting of three sellers and two butchers, have been swiftly incarcerated for a period of 30 days, as confirmed by the Food Department.
The contaminated meat, found to be destined for a hotel along Ring Road in Peshawar, underscores the department’s commitment to maintaining food safety standards within the city.
The selling of dead animal meat is the cause of many diseases in the society. People have requested the government to take action against these butchers.
