ISLAMABAD: The Defence Day of Pakistan, which falls on Sept 6 is celebrated as the national day to commemorate our armed forces’ bid to defend the country against India’s attack.
The day is celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Pakistan armed forces and of the civilians. Pakistan air force, with its utmost brilliance, played a pivotal role in defending Pakistan’s air space at the time of war.
This conflict is known as the 1965 war or Second Kashmir War and it took place after the Operation Gibraltar. The 1965 war caused casualties on both sides and lasted for about five weeks, though Pakistan’s strong defence thumped Indian motives.
Empowered’ with patriotism and courage, Pakistanis tackled Indian attacks effectively, making them realise that fighting with Pakistan is not a piece of cake.
Army chief sparks hope for economic revival in the business community
Pakistan emerged from the 1965 war with India as a strong and self-confident nation, proud of itself and its armed forces.
Meanwhile posters with pictures of Pakistan Army chief General Syed Asif Munir have appeared on the eve of September 6, the Defence Day of Pakistan, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The posters praising the Defence Day were displayed in different parts of Srinagar, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The posters said the time is not far away when Kashmir will be freed and the people will get their rights advising the enemy better to quit its nefarious agenda and leave occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
