Diplomats present credentials to President Zardari

ISLAMABAD: On Monday, diplomats from Zimbabwe, Tajikistan, Rwanda, Argentina, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Botswana presented their credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari in a formal ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Judicial commission meeting called to appoint ad hoc judges
The ceremony saw the presentation of credentials from Titus Mehliswa Jonathan Abu-Basutu, the Ambassador-designate of Zimbabwe; Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, the Ambassador-designate of Tajikistan; Harerimana Fatou, the High Commissioner-designate of Rwanda; Sebastian Sayus, the Ambassador-designate of Argentina; Wunna Han, the Ambassador-designate of Myanmar; Sok Chea, the Ambassador-designate of Cambodia; and Dr. Batlang Comma Serema, the Ambassador-designate of Botswana.
Following the formalities, President Zardari held individual meetings with each envoy. During these discussions, he underscored the significant investment opportunities within Pakistan, encouraging the diplomats to promote their countries’ engagement in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, IT, energy, and mining.
President Zardari reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with friendly nations, particularly in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. He emphasised the importance of boosting economic cooperation and enhancing trade volumes, urging increased interaction between business communities to foster economic and trade relations.

The President congratulated the diplomats on their new roles and expressed optimism about the potential for enhanced cooperation. Earlier, the envoys were honoured with a guard of honour by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
