E-Passports to be issued nationwide

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, the process of issuing e-passports has been initiated at passport offices across the country. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has unveiled a new fee structure to accompany this service.

For a standard 5-year e-passport containing 36 pages, the normal fee is set at Rs9,000. Meanwhile, the regular fee for a 5-year e-passport is Rs16,500, and for agents, the fee stands at Rs27,000.

For those opting for a 10-year e-passport with 36 pages, the regular fee is established at Rs13,500. Urgent processing of a 10-year e-passport will incur a fee of Rs22,500.

These new fee rates reflect the evolving landscape of passport services and aim to provide more streamlined and accessible options for citizens seeking e-passports. The move towards e-passports is expected to enhance security and efficiency while offering convenient and modern passport solutions.
