ECC reshuffled: Aurangzeb appointed chairman, Dar removed

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has been appointed as the Chairman of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), as per an official notification issued on Sunday.

The ECC, the federal body responsible for coordinating economic policies and decisions, will now comprise members including the Minister of Planning, Minister of Energy, Minister of Petroleum, Minister of Economic Affairs, and Minister of Commerce.
Notably, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been removed from the ECC, according to the notification, marking a departure from the previous committee composition.
Earlier, Prime Minister’s Office held the chairmanship of the committee while Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was a member of the committee.
