ECP asks Establishment Division to remove KP chief secretary

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has asked the Establishment Division to remove the chief secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chahrudhy.
In a letter penned by the secretary of ECP, it has been noted that the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has not been upholding impartiality in the execution of his duties. The letter underscored the significance of having unbiased officers in order to ensure elections that are free, fair, and impartial.
The letter said that the chief secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been found lacking in providing necessary assistance to the election commission.
The ECP has recommended immediately removing him and appointing a seasoned candidate in his place.

The letter further stated the new appointing officer must be capable of guiding the province with fairness and effectiveness.
