ECP registers Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party


ISLAMBAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday registered the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)  and issued a notification to this effect.

With this registration, the IPP becomes eligible to participate in the upcoming general elections. The ECP has reviewed and accepted all the details and documents provided by the party’s management, including the results of the intra-party elections, recognizing the legitimacy of the IPP.

The IPP was inaugurated on June 8, 2023, during a press conference held at a local hotel in Lahore.

Separately, scheduled to review a petition next week that seeks the removal of allegedly “biased” members of the federal cabinet to ensure the conduct of neutral and transparent general elections.

According to Dawn.com, Advocate Syed Azizud Din Kaka Khel submitted the petition, which calls for the ousting of caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and several other cabinet members. The ECP is set to hear the petition on October 10.
