KARACHI: The election tribunal, led by Justice Arshad Hussain, has rejected the appeal lodged by Firdous Shamim Naqvi of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) challenging the dismissal of his nomination papers.
Following this refusal, the case will now proceed to be heard by a panel headed by Justice Khadim Hussain Tunio.

Naqvi’s nomination papers had faced rejection for the National Assembly constituency NA-236.
Simultaneously, Justice Tunio’s tribunal has issued a notice to the Election Commission (ECP) and the Returning Officer (RO), scheduling January 4 for the hearing of an appeal filed by Mazhar Junejo.
Junejo, an independent candidate, contests the rejection of his nomination papers in the Sindh Assembly constituency PS-86.
