Eid, spring holidays announced for Islamabad schools

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has announced Eid and Spring holidays for Islamabad schools. A notification has been issued in this regard.

As per the notification, Eid holidays and spring break will be observed from 31-03-2025 to 4-04-25 in all the schools run under the FDE.

Educational activities in the Islamabad schools will resume from April 7 after the Eid holidays.

The federal government has declared a three-day public holiday for Eid ul Fitr, starting from March 31 and ending on April 2.

According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the final date for Eid ul Fitr will be determined based on the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, along with zonal committees, will meet on March 30 (Sunday) evening to make an official announcement.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a high chance of the Shawwal moon being sighted on March 30, making March 31 the likely date for Eid celebrations.

Earlier, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) had also predicted that Ramazan would begin on March 2 and Eid ul Fitr would fall on March 31.
