ISLAMABAD: Eidul Azha is likely to fall on June 7, 2025 in Pakistan according to predictions made by astronomers based on moon sighting forecasts.
According to experts, there are slim chances of sighting the Zul Hijjah moon on May 27, as the moon’s age at sunset will be only 11 hours, making it too young to be visible.

Due to this, it is unlikely that the month of Zul Qadah will end on May 27. However, by May 28, the moon is expected to be more than 35 hours old, making sighting much more probable, they said.
If this forecast holds true, the first of Zul Hijjah is expected to fall on Thursday, May 29, which would place Eidul Azha on Saturday, June 7.
However, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final announcement in this respect based on physical moon sighting.
Eidul Azha, one of the two major Islamic festivals, honours the unwavering faith of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who was ready to sacrifice his son on Allah’s command.
A key ritual of the festival is Qurbani — the slaughter of animals like goats, cows, sheep or camels — in accordance with Islamic teachings.
The meat is then shared among family, relatives, and the underprivileged, symbolising compassion, unity, and the spirit of giving.
