Eight terrorists killed, captain among two soldiers martyred: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed eight terrorists in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in a series of intelligence-based operations conducted from November 29 to December 1.
According to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) two soldiers, including a captain, embraced martyrdom during the operation.
The ISPR said that the first operation targeted terrorists’ hideouts in the Bakkakhel area of Bannu district.
Acting on a tip-off, security forces engaged the militants, killing five and injuring nine. During the intense exchange of fire, 29-year-old Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain from Jhang district fought valiantly before making the ultimate sacrifice.
In a separate operation in Shagai, Khyber district, three militants were killed and two others arrested.

Leading his team with bravery, Captain Muhammad Zohaibuddin, 25, from Lahore, succumbed to his injuries during the fierce firefight.
The terrorists were involved in multiple terror attacks, targeting security forces and civilians, the ISPR said adding that a clearance operation is ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the region
The ISPR reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eradicating terrorism. The sacrifices of its brave soldiers, it added, only strengthen this resolve.
Hailing from Lahore, Captain Zohaib served the Pakistan Army for over three years. He is survived by his parents.
A native of Jhang, Sepoy Iftikhar served in the Pakistan Army for eight years. He leaves behind his wife, a son and a daughter, the ISPR said.
