Election 2024: ECP announces deadline for postal ballot papers

ISLAMABD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the deadline for submitting postal ballot papers on Wednesday, stating that only those received by Returning Officers (ROs) before midnight will be considered for counting.
In a statement issued by the ECP, postal ballot papers arriving after midnight on February 7 will not be included in the total count. The ROs will incorporate the received postal ballot papers while preparing the final election results.
A total of 449,287 postal ballot papers were issued nationwide, with 206,533 allocated for the national assembly and 242,754 for provincial assemblies.
74,274 postal ballots were designated for the Punjab Assembly, while 26,649 were allocated for the Sindh Assembly.
The highest number of postal ballot papers, amounting to 81,282, were distributed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, followed by 60,550 in Balochistan.
The ECP highlighted its commitment in facilitating government employees, their families, prisoners, and people with disabilities by providing them with the option of casting their votes via postal ballot papers.
