ISLAMABAD: In a dramatic turn of events following the recent elections, political manoeuvring is at its peak as parties scramble to secure power in Pakistan’s political landscape.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Rauf Hassan has asserted his party’s influence, claiming support for a significant number of independent candidates. In a candid discussion during the Hum News election special transmission “Election Room,” Hassan revealed that out of 100 independent candidates, a staggering 93 have been elected with their backing.

Furthermore, he hinted at the possibility of additional independents joining their ranks, and added that PTI is yet to decide which party should the PTI-backed independents join. He said that they will choose a party that can claim reserved seats as well.

Amidst concerns over alleged discrepancies in certain constituencies, Hassan affirmed his party’s intent to pursue legal recourse, hinting at potential challenges in higher courts. Despite setbacks, PTI leader remained resolute, emphasising the need for a robust government to navigate the country through its challenges.

Meanwhile, the People’s Party has made a significant demand for alliance with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). Reports have emerged of discussions between Asif Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto, and Shehbaz Sharif, exploring avenues for coalition government formation.

The pivotal demand? The Prime Ministership for Bilawal Bhutto.
