ISLAMABAD: In a day packed with significant legal proceedings, the Supreme Court of Pakistan is set to hear two crucial cases today. These cases hold immense importance for the political landscape and justice system in the country.
The first case on the docket for today pertains to the upcoming elections. The Supreme Court will be hearing a series of petitions regarding the holding of elections in a span of 90 days. A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, is tasked with examining these petitions. The other two members of the bench are Justice Aminuddin and Justice Athar Minallah.
This matter has drawn attention due to its potential to shape the future of the country’s political landscape, as it pertains to the timeline of elections, which are a cornerstone of any democratic process.

The second significant case slated for today’s hearings is related to the trial of civilians in military courts. This matter has been in the legal spotlight for quite some time, and today marks another chapter in its proceedings.
A five-member bench, led by Justice Ijazul Ahsan, will be presiding over this critical case. The remaining four members of the bench include Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Mazahir Naqvi, and Justice Ayesha Malik.
Notably, this case has seen a total of 12 hearings, underlining its complexity and importance. The Supreme Court issued notices to all parties involved, emphasising the need for a fair and thorough examination of this issue.
