Elections consultations: PML-N announces seven-member delegation

ISLAMABAD: A seven-member delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) is scheduled to meet the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) secretary tomorrow on Friday, said PML-N secretary information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Thursday.

Earlier on Wednesday, the ECP had invited major political parties to hold consultations on the upcoming general elections.

In her statement, Aurangzeb announced names of the seven members that will be part of the consultation process. They include PMLN secretary-general Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, former law minister Zahid Hamid, former interior minister Rana Sanaullah, former minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, former lawmaker Amir Muqam, and PMLN Deputy Secretary General Ataullah Tarar.

According to media sources, the agenda for the meetings includes matters related to delimitation of constituencies, updation of electoral rolls, elections schedule and conduct of general elections.

Representatives from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) are also expected to hold meetings with ECP on Thursday.
