MASTUNG: Passengers of Jaffar Express that came under attack this morning are now being taken back to Quetta, Pakistan Railway spokesperson said.

A special train from Quetta has reached Peshawar, he said, adding that ticket vouchers will be returned to the affected passengers of Jaffar Express. Relief work is also in progress, and three out of five bogies have been put back on the track, the spokesperson said.

The train coming from Peshawar was stopped at Sibi. It will be allowed to resume its journey after the relief work is completed.

JAFFAR EXPRESS TARGETTED AGAIN

An explosion was reported earlier on Sunday on the railway track at the location of Spezand in Tehsil Dasht. The target of the explosion was Jaffar Express train, law enforcement authorities said.

The explosion damaged the train and five bogies of the Jafar Express, and derailed the engine. However, thankfully no casualties were reported in the explosion or the train derailment accident.

The explosion was caused by explosives planted on the railway track. Security forces cordoned off the area after the explosion.

TRAIN DERAILS AT RYK

Earlier today, three bogies of the Awam Express derailed in Rahim Yar Khan, after which the train movement on the down track was suspended.

According to railway officials, the train was travelling from Peshawar to Karachi when the incident occurred at Khanpur City Gate. The cause of the derailment has not yet been determined.
