ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed that the F-8 Jinnah Avenue Interchange project be completed by February 18.

On Tuesday, the interior minister visited the under-construction F-8 Jinnah Avenue Interchange Project in Islamabad and inspected the finishing work of the flyover.

The minister set a final deadline of February 18 for the project’s 100 per cent completion.

During the visit, he met with workers engaged in the construction, appreciated their hard work, and urged them to continue working with dedication.

He also directed authorities to immediately remove debris from the surrounding areas and expedite work on the connecting roads beneath the flyover.

The F-8 Interchange project developed by MAAKSONS in collaboration with CDA and NESPAK, costing Rs 4.1 billion, features a flyover and an underpass. This project will ease the heavy traffic flow at the junction of 9th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue.

The project, part of a broader infrastructure effort that includes a flyover with loops, aims to alleviate congestion at this critical intersection.

The underpass was opened to traffic on December 24, resolving approximately 50 percent of the traffic issues at this busy junction.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif last week had inaugurated the multi-billion Serena Interchange Project, whose official name is Jinnah Square, three months after he laid the foundation stone of the mega project.
