SLAMABAD: Pakistan encountered a disruption in social media services on Sunday as users reported difficulties accessing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.


According to NetBlocks, an internet monitoring group, the disruption affected social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, as well as mobile networks in some regions.

NetBloocks on ‘X’ wrote “The incident comes as presectuted former PM Imran Khan’s party, PTI launches its election fundraising telethon.


The outage, affecting these major platforms simultaneously, has sparked concerns about potential technical issues or deliberate disruptions. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has not released an official statement regarding the disruption, leaving users and experts speculating on the cause.

Users across major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, as well as in Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Quetta, are encountering difficulties. Popular platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok are all affected.
