ISLAMABAD: Faisal Mosque has announced a significant change in its annual Aitkaf program and has imposed a non-refundable fee of Rs 5000 as registration fee for participants.
The mosque’s administration unveiled its plans for the 2024 Aitkaf program, earmarking space for 300 individuals on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
To facilitate participation, application forms are available at the affiliated Islamic Center. Alongside the form, applicants must submit a non-refundable fee of Rs 5000 through a bank draft by the 10th of Ramazan.
Additionally, individuals are required to provide a copy of their national identity card and two passport-sized photographs. The age limit for Aitkaf participants has been capped at 60 years.

Commenting on the fee adjustment, Nasir Fareed, spokesperson for the Islamic University and Dawah Academy, revealed that the funds previously covered Suhoor and Iftar arrangements. However, this year, participants are expected to arrange their own meals.
The final decision rests with DG Dawah Academy, Dr. Ilyas, who declined to comment despite numerous attempts to reach him by HUM News.
Criticism has emerged on social media platforms, with users expressing discontent over the fee imposition. The move has sparked a debate regarding accessibility and the evolving dynamics of religious practices in contemporary times.
