Fatal shooting claims lives of Customs officials in DI Khan


At least two Pakistan Customs officials were killed and four injured when unknown assailants opened fire in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least two Pakistan Customs officials were killed and four injured when unknown assailants opened fire in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday.

According to the local police, the incident occurred near a toll plaza. The injured officials were shifted to a local hospital while the bodies of the deceased were shifted to a local morgue.

A heavy contingent of police reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area. The police are currently investigating the attack, although no motive has been established yet. As of now, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

This marks the second attack in just three days on Customs officials in KP. At least seven individuals lost their lives when unidentified assailants opened fire on a vehicle transporting Pakistan Customs officials in DI Khan on Thursday.

Local police reported that the customs officials were conducting routine patrols when they were ambushed by armed gunmen, who then fled the scene.
