Federal and Sindh governments aligned on Uraan Pakistan

Uraan Pakistan

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and Sindh Provincial Minister for Energy Nasir Hussain Shah held a media talk here today.

Shah said that a detailed briefing was held with Ahsan Iqbal on the ongoing projects in Sindh. “For the first time in the several years, we have received a meaningful amount of money from the federation.” Commending the government’s five-year plan, “Uraan Pakistan”, Shah said “It is a wonderful program launched by the government.”

Ahsan Iqbal thanked Nasir Shah and the Sindh government, and said that the previous government ignored Sindh. But now “the federation has released funds for the timely completion of ongoing projects in the province,” he added.

The planning minister said that the aim of Uraan Pakistan five-year project is to “strengthen Pakistan’s development and to improve the country’s economic situation”. He said, “To celebrate 100 years of independence, it is necessary that peace be maintained in the country.”

“The future of Pakistan depends on increasing exports worth $100 billion. The country will have to develop through technology,” he said, adding, “The performance of those sectors is very weak. The literacy rate in the country will have to be increased and the population growth will have to be stopped.”

Planning minister said that the federal government and the Sindh government have agreed that the targets of the provincial and federal development budgets can be achieved jointly. “The government will assist the Sindh government in overcoming the impacts of the flood disaster in the province,” Iqbal said.
