Female teachers in Punjab to get two holidays a week

WEB DESK: Punjab’s Minister of Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, announced on Tuesday that female school teachers across Punjab will receive two holidays each week. Additionally, their end-of-day time will be adjusted to 2:30pm instead of 3:00pm.

This relief will take effect after the summer holidays, with schools resuming on August 15. The decision aims to address the challenges faced by female teachers and accommodate their household responsibilities. A notification regarding these changes will be issued soon.

Earlier on August 10, the Punjab government notified new school timings for schools across Punjab from August 15, Friday, the day on which schools are reopening after summer vacations.

According to the notification issued by the Government of Punjab School Education Department on August 10, schools operating in the morning shift from Monday to Thursday will observe timings from 8am to 1:30pm and from 8am to 12pm on Fridays.
