Finance Minister Aurangzeb to highlight climate damage on COP29

ISLAMABAD/BAKU: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has left for Baku, Azerbaijan to attend the UN climate conference COP29.
Finance Minister will attend events held at Pakistani pavilion, and also shed light on the damages caused by climate change in Pakistan as well as in other developing countries.
During the finance minister’s visit, solutions to climate problems faced by developing countries are also likely to be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the need for financing to deal with climate change, as was also shared by the Prime Minister’s office. PM Shehbaz Sharif is also attending the climate conference and seeking financial alliances with other countries affected by the climate impact, under ‘Loss and Damage’ clause.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will return to Pakistan on Friday.
