Fire breaks out at plastic manufacturing factory in Karachi

KARACHI: A fire broke out at a plastic material manufacturing factory in the SITE area of Karachi on Friday morning gutting valuables worth millions of rupees, rescue and police officials said.

According to fire brigade officials, six fire tenders, two browsers and one snorkel have been dispatched to the area to douse off the fire.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of the Plastic Factory at 9:15am and has spread to the first floor. Workers present inside the factory had been rescued,  according to the fire brigade officials,

Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the flames of the fire at a Karachi factory and prevent further damage.

Around 50 per cent of the fire has been bought under control till the filing of this report.

SINDH MINISTER TAKES NOTICE

Sindh Minister for Industries Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has taken notice of the incident and has requested a detailed report on the incident from the Managing Director of the SITE area.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of workers in factories and stressed that factory owners must prioritize adherence to safety regulations.

“Implementing safety rules should be the top priority for factory owners,” said Minister Jam Ikramullah, as he called for stringent measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
