Fire breaks out in Kochi Bazaar, Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A major fire erupted in Kochi Bazaar, Peshawar, early on Tuesday.
Three people, including a woman, perished in the fire. Rescue officials reported that the fire was brought under control after a concerted effort.

Over six fire vehicles and approximately 40 personnel were involved in stamping out the fire.
The blaze started in the bustling market area, and quickly spread to a nearby residential house. Rescue spokespersons reported that six people sustained injuries due to the fire, with some suffering from smoke inhalation and burns.
Among those affected were two rescue personnel, who fainted during the operation. The injured and unconscious people were transported to local hospitals for medical assistance.
During the rescue operation, three people were trapped inside a house adjacent to the market. Firefighters worked diligently to reach them. Their efforts proved successful, with all three people rescued safely.

However, the operation was not with its challenges, as two firefighters sustained injuries while attempting to save the trapped residents.
As of now, the cause of the fire remains undetermined, with investigations expected to follow once the situation is fully under control.
