Fire guts marriage hall in Liaquatabad

KARACHI: A marriage hall was completely gutted in a fire that broke out near Chuna Depot in Liaquatabad on Tuesday.

The fire was brought under control after an intense firefighting operation lasting over an hour and a half. Teams from KMC Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 were on site, working jointly to extinguish the blaze.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Rescue officials confirmed that no loss of life occurred during the incident. However, the Liaquatabad marriage hall was completely damaged. The cooling operations are still underway to prevent reignition.

Authorities said an assessment is underway to estimate the financial losses caused by the fire.
