GILGIT/KARACHI: In yet another head-scratching episode, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) managed to fly passengers from Islamabad to Gilgit – minus their luggage. Tourists who arrived ready to explore the breathtaking region of Gilgit-Baltistan, found themselves without their essential belongings upon landing.

Thanks to this latest PIA slip-up, their adventure kicked off with an unexpected hurdle: no gear, no clothes, and plenty of frustration.
This isn’t PIA’s first foray into the world of misplaced luggage. Over the years, the airline has earned a reputation for sending passengers one way and their bags another. The result? Angry passengers, missed plans, and a social media storm of criticism. This time, it wasn’t just the domestic travelers feeling the heat; foreign tourists, some visiting Pakistan for the first time, were left particularly disappointed. Many came to experience Gilgit-Baltistan’s majestic mountains but were left without their vital gear.
The airline has promised to send the bags to Gilgit “as soon as possible,” though passengers, used to frequent flight cancellations and delays, aren’t exactly holding their breath.

In a parallel update, PIA pulled another classic move. A flight destined for Peshawar somehow ended up in Karachi, leaving even seasoned travelers stunned. A viral video of the bewildered passengers only added fuel to the fire.
PIA continues to deliver… surprises, if not luggage!
