ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Friday condemned terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed its commitment to zero tolerance and international cooperation against terror threats, saying it continues to play a frontline role in the global fight against terrorism.
The statement came after the US government designated the Resistance Front as a “foreign terrorist organization” over the Pahalgam attack.
This development emboldened India, which has continued to blame Pakistan for the attack, claiming that the Resistance Front is an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and accusing Pakistan of supporting the group.

However, India’s accusations proved baseless when international media and impartial bodies reported that it had failed to present substantive evidence to support its claims of Pakistani involvement in the attack.
Pakistan has consistently rejected these accusations as unfounded and has repeatedly called for an independent investigation into the incident, an option India has never agreed to.
In its statement, the Foreign Office noted that investigations into the Pahalgam incident remain inconclusive and rejected any linkage with LeT, terming it a banned and dismantled organisation. “Pakistan has effectively dismantled such outfits, arrested and prosecuted their leadership, and undertaken deradicalisation efforts,” the statement read.
It also highlighted Pakistan’s contribution to counterterrorism efforts, and emphasised that “zero tolerance, and international cooperation against terrorism are cornerstone of our policy.”
“Pakistan has been, and is a frontline state against terrorism, and has contributed tremendously towards achievement of global peace through its CT efforts including apprehension of Terrorist Sharifullah, the mastermind of Abbey Gate Bombing.”
Responding to reports concerning US domestic actions, the FO said “India has a track record of exploiting such designations to push anti-Pakistan propaganda with a view to divert international attention from its irresponsible and rogue behavior, including ongoing human rights atrocities, especially in IIOJ&K.”
Urging the global community to adopt objective and non-discriminatory policies, Islamabad reiterated the need for collective efforts against terrorism.
“We urge international community to adopt objective and discriminatory policies to address this global menace through collective efforts which necessitate that terrorist organizations like Majeed Brigade must also be listed as alias of BLA [Balochistan Liberation Army].”
