Forces kill 10 terrorists in Khyber district: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 10 terrorists of the banned Fitna Al Khawarij during an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khyber district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the intelligence-based operation was carried out in general area Bagh of Khyber district on reported presence of Khawarij on the night between 23 and 24 February, 2025.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, as a result of which, ten khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement read.
ISPR further said the sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
Forces lauded for eliminating terrorists
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari praised security forces for successfully eliminating 10 militants in Khyber district, reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
In a statement, PM Shehbaz commended the security personnel for their swift action, saying that “the nefarious designs of the enemies of humanity will continue to be thwarted in this manner.”
He reiterated that the government and security forces stand united in their mission to uproot terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, President Zardari also lauded the forces for their efforts against militancy. “Pakistan’s brave armed forces are carrying out successful operations against extremist elements.”
He vowed that operations would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated and reaffirmed that “the entire nation stands with its security forces in this fight.”
Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi hailed the intelligence-based operation conducted in Khyber’s Bagh area, terming it a significant victory.
“Security forces once again foiled the malicious intentions of militants, sending 10 terrorists to their ultimate fate,” Naqvi said, adding that the “forces’ efforts for maintaining peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deserve high praise.”
He reaffirmed that counterterrorism operations will persist until the menace is completely eradicated and that the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its security forces.
