Forces kill three terrorists in Tank operation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed three militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Tank district, the military’s media wing said on Saturday. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on reported presence of Khawarij.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khawarij location, as a result of which, three khawarij were sent to hell,” the ISPR statement read.

It added that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were involved in attacks on security forces and innocent civilians.

“Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari commended the forces for their successful operation, praising their efforts in neutralising the threat.

He reiterated that counterterrorism operations would continue until militancy was eradicated and affirmed the nation’s support for its security personnel.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the operation, stating that the nation stands firmly with its security forces in the fight against terrorism. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eliminating all forms of militancy from the country. 

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi congratulated the security forces on the successful operation, highlighting their timely action in neutralising the militants.

He commended their professional capabilities and assured that counterterrorism efforts would persist until the complete eradication of such elements.
