Four children killed after consuming poisonous milk in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: Four children have been tragically killed after they consumed poisonous milk at Pir Goth tehsil in Khairpur, while the condition of two other girls was stated to be critical till last reports came in.

Taking notice of the incident, Commissioner Sukkur division Fayyaz Abbasi sought a report from the Khairpur deputy commissioner.

Police said that the deceased had been identified as 18-year-old Asghar, 15-year-old Dilbar, Fehmida and Ganj Baby, while the girls who were in critical condition had been shifted to a hospital.

Police further said they were investigating how the milk was mixed with poison.

More than 10 children fell ill after consuming the poisonous milk late at night. They were rushed to the local hospital, where two children died upon arrival.

Eight others remained in critical condition, and sadly, four more succumbed to their illnesses this morning, bringing the death toll to six. All the victims belong to the same family.
