Four special trains to facilitate passengers on Eid

Pakistan Railways has unveiled plans to operate four special trains ahead of Eidul Fitr, aimed at facilitating travellers journeying to their hometowns for the festive occasion.

As per Pakistan Railways’ announcement, the first special train is scheduled to depart from Karachi to Peshawar today at 6 PM. This train will traverse through Multan and Faisalabad en route to Peshawar. Concurrently, the second Eid special train will embark on its journey from Quetta to Rawalpindi at 10 AM.

Furthermore, the third Eid special train is set to depart from Karachi to Lahore on April 8 at 9 PM. Its route will encompass Multan and Sahiwal before reaching Lahore, while the return journey will take the train through Sahiwal, Multan, and finally back to Karachi. The fourth special train will commence its service from Lahore to Karachi at 5 PM on April 9.

Eidul Fitr, which marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan, is a time for Muslims worldwide to engage in special prayers, reunite with family and friends, and partake in festive feasting and recreational activities.

In adherence to safety protocols, railway authorities have urged passengers to strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while travelling on the trains and within station premises.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani government has declared a four-day holiday from April 10 to April 13 in observance of Eidul Fitr. – INP
