FPSC announce CSS 2025 results, only 354 candidates clear written exam

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) on Friday announced the results of the CSS Competitive Examination 2025 written test, with only 2.77 per cent of the candidates declared successful.

According to the official statement, a total of 18,139 candidates applied for the exam, held from February 15 to 23 this year, of which 12,792 actually appeared.

Out of them, 354 managed to qualify the written part.

The abysmally low CSS 2025 results were unexpected, especially after the extension in the upper age limit for aspirants.

In May this year, the National Assembly approved a resolution to extend the upper age limit for CSS aspirants from 30 to 35 years, while also increasing the number of attempts from three to five.

The FPSC said that the result of rejected candidates would remain withheld under Rule 16 (6) of CSS Competitive Examination Rules, 2019.

The complete list of qualified candidates has been uploaded on the FPSC website.

Successful candidates will now proceed to the next phases, which include medical examination, psychological assessment, and viva voce. FPSC advised them to regularly check its website for schedules and further instructions.

The notification added that “due care has been taken to ensure accuracy and correctness, however, the Commission reserves the right to rectify any error or omission at any time.”

The pass rate for CSS 2025 is in line with the historically low success ratio of the country’s most competitive examination.

Last year, 395 candidates passed the written exam out of 15,602 who appeared, recording a 2.53pc success rate.
