Grenell previously served as the director of national intelligence (DNI), the US ambassador to Germany, and the presidential envoy for Serbia and Kosovo negotiations, all during Trump’s 2017 to 2021 term.
According to Trump’s post on Truth Social, Grenell has also spent eight years as part of the United Nations Security Council.

Earlier, in November, Grenell posted the same sentiment, replying to a tweet from Bloomberg regarding an article about the November rallies in which PTI protesters demanded the release of Imran Khan.
He later compared Imran Khan to Trump in another post on the same day, stating that the former prime minister was jailed on “phony charges” and that the people of Pakistan “have been inspired by the US Red Wave.”
Watch Pakistan.
Their Trump-like leader is in prison on phony charges and the people have been inspired by the US Red Wave.

Imran Khan was arrested on May 9, 2023 due to corruption charges relating to the Al-Qadir trust. The arrest led to protests breaking out throughout the country. Thousands of supporters of Khan had attacked and torched several military buildings to protest against the allegations. At least eight people were killed in the violence.
In August of 2023, Khan was sentenced to serve three years in prison, and was banned from running for office for five years in a case dubbed ‘Toshakhana’. The case accuses Khan of using his aides to sell gifts in state possession, such as watches.
Earlier in December, the Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court (ATC) court indicted the jailed former Prime Minister on charges of inciting his supporters to attack the country’s military and its installations in 2023. Khan has also been indicted in the “Toshakhana 2” case, after Khan appealed the initial corruption charges in the Islamabad High Court and was found not guilty.
