ISLAMABAD: A funeral prayer in absentia for the martyred Ismail Haniyeh was held today at Parliament House in Islamabad. The ceremony saw the participation of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and members of the cabinet.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, along with various cabinet members, attended the funeral prayer to honour martyred leader of Hamas Ismail Haniyeh.

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq was also present, joined by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and other members of the National Assembly. They gathered to offer their respects and participate in the prayers.

This event marked a moment of collective mourning and respect for Ismail Haniyeh by the nation’s leaders, signifying the importance of his legacy and the unity of the country’s political figures towards the cause of Palestine.

Pakistan is also observing mourning day across the country today in solidarity with the Palestinians, and to condemn the ongoing Israeli brutalities.

The decision to observe the mourning day and to offer the funeral prayer in absentia was taken in a consultative meeting of the government allied parties held in under the chair of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
