PESHAWAR: Funeral prayers for Captain Hussain Jahangir and Sergeant Shafiqullah, who were martyred in a recent operation in Peshawar, were held at the Peshawar Garrison. The prayers were attended by the Corps Commander Peshawar, Pakistan Army officers, civil authorities, local residents, and soldiers.

Following the funeral, the bodies of the martyrs were sent to their native areas, where they will be laid to rest with full military honours. The armed forces reiterated their determination to eradicate terrorism in cooperation with the nation.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, recognising their sacrifice in thwarting terrorist actions. He extended condolences to their families, stating that the nation will always honour the sacrifices of its martyrs.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also paid homage to the martyred soldiers, expressing solidarity with the grieving families. He affirmed the commitment to protecting the people and highlighted that terrorism knows no boundaries.

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the bravery of the security forces. He emphasised the unparalleled sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism and assured that these sacrifices would not be in vain. Gandapur reiterated that the entire nation stands with the security forces in this ongoing battle.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi also conveyed his condolences for the martyrdom of both soldiers.

He expressed heartfelt sympathy to the families of the martyrs, recognising their eternal sacrifices for the establishment of law and order. Kundi reiterated the nation’s solidarity with the security forces in the ongoing battle against terrorism.
