Gandapur dares Centre to impose governor's rule

ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday challenged the federal government to impose governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as the PTI said the party vowed to make every effort for getting Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others released.

After the PTI held a meeting of its parliament members, a declaration shared with media seemed focused on the incarcerated party founder and called for his release along with other leaders and workers.

It also said that the PTI would continue with its “struggle” to ensure “supremacy” of law and the Constitution in Pakistan.

As expected, the PTI also expressed its disagreement over the reserved seats judgment issued by the Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench.

UNFLINCHING LOYALTY

Later in the evening, the PTI leaders addressed a press conference, where Gandapur said the hope to divide his party was a miscalculation by the opponents.

He opined that the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not be removed through constitutional means. “Remove my government, if you have courage,” Gandapur said, while addressing the ruling alliance in the Centre as well the “establishment” without naming any.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister told the reporters that the government and the authority was actually in the hands of PTI founder who could order [him] any time to resign.

Meanwhile, he claimed that not allowing to meet the PTI founder at the Adiala jail to discuss the budget and that he took a firm stance after being able to realise [what the plan was].

TERRORISM BECAUSE OF REMOVING IMRAN!

Meanwhile, Gandapur made an interesting claim, saying that terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had risen due to removing the PTI government in the Centre and it was linked to Afghanistan.

One may recall that it was Imran himself in a video statement that his government had allowed the Taliban [Khawarij] to relocate from Afghanistan and resettle in Pakistan.

However, he went on to also questioned how the terrorists were able to cross the Pak-Afghan border and vowed to continue fighting until eliminating the last terrorists.

DIFFERENCES OR NO DIFFERENCES AND MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE

Speaking on the occasion, Junaid Akbar, the PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president, said they were united on the issue of Imran, notwithstanding “our differences”.

However, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said there were no differences in the party and Imran was of the opinion that there should be a “meaningful dialogue” [with the establishment or the government].

But he didn’t elaborate the meaning of “meaningful dialogue”.

Meanwhile, Gohar, just like Gandapur was confident that the PTI government would stay in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as both of them said the rivals should bring a no-confidence motion to topple the PTI’s provincial government.
