New flyover and underpass project approved for Garhi Shahu Lahore

LAHORE: The Punjab Development Working Party (PDWP) granted approval to three development schemes within the Urban Development and Auqaf sector during its 37th meeting, with an estimated expenditure of Rs7,561.473 million.

Chairing the session was Chairman Planning and Development (P&D) Board Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, alongside the presence of Secretary P&D Board Muzaffar Khan Sial.

The approved development schemes include:

1. Construction of a Signal-Free Corridor from Karim Market to Motorway (M-2) Phase-I, Lahore, with a budget of Rs2,975.034 million.
2. Approval for the construction of a Flyover and underpass at Garhi Shahu Chowk, Lahore, aimed at resolving traffic congestion issues, with a sanctioned budget of Rs3,951.469 million.
3. Conservation and up-gradation of Shrines Mosques of Uch Sharif and Development of Pilgrim Trail, approved at the cost of Rs635 million.

The meeting saw the participation of all Members of the P&D Board, representatives from relevant departments, and other senior officials from the respective provincial departments.
