General election 2024: no, there are no eight election holidays in Pakistan

WEB DESK: Social media is abuzz with news reports claiming that there will be eight election holidays in Pakistan in the month of February in connection with the general election scheduled or February 8, 2024.
However, the news reports asserting that there will be eight holidays in Pakistan for the general election 2024 are false, and an official notification regarding this matter has not been issued yet.

The circulating news reports state that there are eight holidays planned from February 4 to February 11. As per the information, February 4, a Sunday, and February 5, observed as Kashmir Day, are followed by a holiday period from February 6 to 10 due to the elections in the country. Additionally, February 11, another Sunday, marks the end of the break, with schools, colleges, and universities reopening on February 12 after the eight-day hiatus.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has the authority to issue notifications regarding election holidays in Pakistan, and as of now, no such notification has been issued by the electoral body.
