General Elections 2024: candidates get electoral symbols

ISLAMABAD: In anticipation of the upcoming 2024 general elections scheduled for February 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially allocated electoral symbols to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidates, now contesting as independent candidates.

For Shahram Tarkai contesting for National Assembly Constituency NA-20 in Swabi, and Rangiz Ahmed contesting from PK-49 will both be represented by the ‘Dove’ symbol. Meanwhile, Abdul Kareem from PK-51 has been allotted the symbol of ‘Kettle’, and Faisal Tarkai from PK-52 will contest on the symbol of a ‘Horologe’ (big clock).

In Multan Constituency NA-150, Zain Hussain Qureshi, son of Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has been granted the ‘shoe’ symbol, while Zain’s sister, Mehr Bano Qureshi, contesting from NA-151, will contest with the symbol of ‘tongs’.

Moving to Muzaffargarh, PTI’s Jamshed Dasti, has received ‘Harmonium’ symbol for contesting from NA-175, and the ‘Airplane’ symbol for contesting from NA-176.

In other constituencies, Muazzam Khan Jatoi, Dawood Khan Jatoi, and Mohammad Hussain Dogar from NA-177, NA-178, and NA-132 respectively have been allotted symbols such as ‘Hookah’, ‘Keychain’, and ‘Cricket stamps’. PTI’s Sardar Rashid Tufail, contesting from Punjab Assembly seat PP-175, will also be identified by the cricket stamps symbol.

Meanwhile, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan and Sheikh Waqas Akram from NA-108 and NA-109 respectively will carry the ‘Cot’ symbol.

Sultan Rum from PK-9 will be recognised by ‘Chilli’, and Mohammad Naeem from PK-10 will be represented by a ‘Frying pan’ electoral symbol.

Moving towards Attock, Eman Tahir of PTI secures the ‘Water turbine’ symbol, while Inbisaat Tahir Sadiq has been allotted ‘Register’. Naz Tahir will contest with the symbol of ‘Peacock’.

PARTY SYMBOLS FOR CANDIDATES

Heading the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Allama Hafiz Muhammad Saad Hussain Rizvi has gotten ‘Crane’ symbol which is also the official symbol of TLP as allotted by the ECP. Likewise, Malik Sohail Kamriyal, from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has gotten the symbol of ‘Lion’, which is the official PML-N electoral symbol.

Salim Haider of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) aims for success with the PPP’s ‘Arrow’ symbol, Amjad Ali Khan of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) will contesy on JI’s symbol of ‘Scales’, and Qari Fakhruddin of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) will contest with ‘Book’ symbol.
