Gilgit-Baltistan floods: Rescue efforts continue, disaster areas declared


Rescue operations in Gilgit-Baltistan will continue under all missing persons are recovers following devastating floods, the GB Chief Minister Gulbar Khan said

DIAMER: Rescue operations in Gilgit-Baltistan will continue under all missing persons are recovers following devastating floods, the Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan said on Thursday.

The areas of Niyat, Khunnar and Thor were declared disaster zones, the CM added.

He said financial assistance will be provided to the families of those who died in the floods. A survey if flood-affected houses will be carried out to assess damage and determine compensation.

The Gilgit-Baltistan CM also ordered the immediate delivery of tents and relief supplies to those affected.

The CM praised rescuers, Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts, police and local residents for their role in relief and rescue efforts during floods and landslides.
