Gilgit: Seven volunteers killed as landslide hits Daniyor Nullah

GILGIT: Seven volunteers were killed and three others injured when a landslide struck during repair work in Daniyor Nullah, rescue officials said.
According to Rescue 1122, ten volunteers were working to restore a water channel damaged by recent floods when the incident occurred.
Rescue 1122 identified the deceased as Pyar Ali, Naik Alam, Adam Ali, Azharuddin, Afaq, Azhar and Dildar Hussain.
While the Anwar, Aziz Aman and 3 others were injured in the incident. The injured were shifted to PHQ Hospital Gilgit.
Funeral prayers for the deceased were held in Danyore polo ground.

A powerful flood had swept through Daniyor Nullah in Gilgit, leaving a trail of destruction. Residents say they have never seen flooding of this magnitude before.
No loss of life was reported, but several houses and vast stretches of fertile land have been washed away.

GB- CM EXPRESSES GRIEF OVER DANIYOR NULLAH TRAGEDY
Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan has expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the Daniyor Nullah incident that claimed seven lives.
The chief minister announced that compensation will be given to the families of those killed. He directed officials to ensure better medical facilities for the injured.
He said the government stands with the grieving families and will provide all possible assistance to the victims.
