Gold price soars again

KARACHI: The price of gold in the local market soared by Rs1,100 per tola on August 15, according to All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA). After the increase, the price of gold per tola reached 222,900.

With this rise, the price of 10 grams of gold stands at Rs191,101 witnessing an increase of Rs943.

Separately, The Pakistani rupee weakened by Rs3.01 against the US dollar and closed at Rs291.51 in the interbank market on Tuesday, the State Bank of Pakistan said.

Overall, the Pakistani currency depreciated by -1.04 per cent against the US dollar after the market opened following three days of holidays.
