Govt advises caution with ChatGPT

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued an advisory on the use of popular artificial intelligence application ChatGPT, in light of exponentially growing number of users.

In the advisory, users have been asked not to share sensitive information on ChatGPT, as it has the potential to generate malware and spam emails.

Fraudulent emails have the potential to spread misinformation or even scam users. Personal data and financial information should therefore never be typed into the chat, the government said.

Links sent in emails should only be opened after verification, according to the advisory. The government has also asked people with official mobile phones not to use the application.

The advisory suggests an immediate complain to OpenAI in case of security problems.
