Groom spends wedding day behind bars

jail

KARACHI: A Karachi man found himself in the grips of a police lockup just moments before his scheduled marriage, according to local media reports on Monday.

Four terrorists gunned down in Tank

The unfolding drama saw members of the groom’s family, led by his grandfather, descending upon the Jamshed Quarter police station, carrying his Sherwani attire, as they vociferously demanded his immediate release.

However, their fervent pleas were met with stern resistance from law enforcement authorities, who, in a bid to quell the unrest, issued warnings of potential arrests, effectively dispersing the protest.

Police officials disclosed that the groom, identified as Usama, had been apprehended based on a complaint lodged by his sister-in-law, Noor Fatima, who alleged fears of potential mistreatment at his hands.

Remarkably, the grievance resulting in Usama’s detention had been lodged merely two days before the scheduled matrimonial ceremony, sources within the police force divulged to media. – INP
