Gujranwala man sets wife on fire

GUJRANWALA: In Gujranwala, a man along with his second wife, set his first wife on fire. The victim, Shumaila, was severely burned and is currently in critical condition, receiving treatment in the hospital. The authorities have promptly arrested the accused individual.

The distressing incident unfolded in the Kot Ladha area of Gujranwala, where Nasir, accompanied by his second wife, reportedly doused Shumaila with petrol before setting her on fire. As a result of the severe burns, the victim was urgently transferred to Lahore for specialised medical care.

Upon investigation, Nasir initially claimed that his first wife attempted suicide. However, the victim, in her statement, accused her husband and his second wife of deliberately setting her on fire. The police have initiated an official case and launched a thorough investigation into the matter.
